In her spare time, Liz pursues interests in fiber art and illustration, and any other creative projects that might strike her fancy. She also takes her dog on weekend adventures in the company of her husband, Will.
Liz holds degrees in Graphic Design from the Corcoran School of Art + Design in Washington, DC (now part of George Washington University) and American Studies from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. She originally hails from New England where she was born a seventh generation Vermonter.

Being born and raised in Waterbury Center, Vermont contributed to becoming an artist of nature. My art training began early at the hands (and brush) of my father, Artist Leon Griffith. Though he died when I was only 17, he imparted in me respect and appreciation for nature and my initial interest in art.
Graduating magna cum laude in college, I minored in art and continued taking art classes in many other venues. Though my professional life was diverted to a career in public service, I eventually made art my second career. My art career consists of non-stop exhibiting and networking. In addition, I’ve been juried into many art exhibits such as Southern Vermont Art Center, The Art Complex Museum, Duxbury, MA, Art in the Round Barn, Waitsfield, VT, various shows at the Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville, VT, Studio Place Arts, Barre, VT, Vermont Governor’s Office, Chaffee Art Center in Rutland, VT, Gruppe Gallery, Jericho, VT, Arabella’s Gallery, Windsor, VT and T.W. Wood Gallery, Montpelier. Other achievements include being juried into the University of Vermont Medical Center Annual Artist Calendar in 2013 and for 2016 as well as being selected to be an Artist in Residence for the Appalachian Mountain Club, Highland Center, Crawford Notch, NH.
In addition, I am a past President of the Vermont Pastel Society, past Board member of the T. W. Wood Art Gallery and Museum, ongoing juried member of the Pastel Society of America, a member of the Vermont Pastel Society, Art Resource Association, Studio Place Arts, T.W. Wood Gallery and Bryan Memorial Gallery.
Painting in pastel, oil and acrylic, my art has been described as magical realism. Oil painting was the first medium I fell in love with as a child, enjoying the sensation of oils gliding over a smooth surface with a fine brush. A few years ago, I fell in love with the physical intimacy of pastel as well as the vibrancy of the colors.

Daughter of two WWII Veterans and a native of Central Vermont. a She attended Spaulding High School and studied Industrial Arts, Monumental Drafting, Stone Arts and Signage and Lettering. As a 1971 Graduate, entered the local workforce after graduation and continued education in the School of Hard Knocks, which included manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, and construction. A self-taught woodworker and woodcarver that has done numerous consignments and request through the years and has received competition awards for both realistic and stylized wildlife carvings in both New York and Vermont.
Mascitti, PaulMy family's Barre roots go back to the very early 1900's when my great grandfather migrated here from Italy to start his own granite business. He was especially good at carving roses by hand out of granite and, at $25 a piece, that became his focus until his untimely passing in the 1940's. With my grandfather and father also working within the granite industry, it seemed to make sense that I would follow suit. While spending time learning monumental drafting, I just couldn't keep my mind away from my true passion: designing race cars! - I loved looking at the fantastic race car lettering that local guys like Chris Ford, Orton Patch and the Lefleche family over in Graniteville did for racers in the region, and I like to think I still draw inspiration from them even today! Mascitti Brothers was born when my brother and I noticed a local need for a reliable source for office, truck, and motor sports vinyl lettering where the customer could tell the company was interested in fulfilling their needs to their liking no matter how small.

Noah Rubel is a Barre-raised artist attending school at Concordia University. Noah’s art practice started developing as a high school freshman by drawing digitally and on paper. Like a lot of other kids growing up in Central Vermont, I started going to the Thunder Road with my family at a young age. I was intrigued by the speed and flair of the cars. With my family involved with several race teams, I became a permanent fixture at Thunder Road. At the age of 13, I was able to combine my passion for racing and art together, lettering local drivers’ cars. In 1999, I turned my hobby into my career and started A-1 Graphics. For over 20 years, I have been dedicated to bringing high quality work at a fair price to racers along with businesses throughout our state.

Soon after I hung up my helmet, I was asked to trade it in for another seat, driving the tracks pace car.

The Granite Center Garden Club held its first meeting on April 15, 1938. The primary focus of the Garden Club is to care for our eight garden beds that are located throughout Barre City. We give recognition to homeowners and businesses with beautiful and breathtaking gardens.

Bresette, Danielle
Danielle Bresette was born and raised in West Braintree and now resides in Washington, VT with her husband and two children. Danielle began painting as a hobby after seeing potential in all the interior paint she had left over after painting her home. As a lifelong crafter across many mediums, Danielle decided to start painting with acrylics and branch out from her other creative interests. She finds inspiration in nature and the Vermont seasons, and she enjoys learning about and practicing color theory and composition. The majority of her work consists of florals and patterns.
Danielle expresses her style and creative vision in her work as director of marketing for the Community College of Vermont.

I was fortunate enough to be born in Barre, Vt and lived in or close-by my entire life.
I attended Goddard College, studying art and other interesting subjects; but am primarily self-taught as an artist. Painting has been a focus for me as far back as I can remember.
For nearly thirty years, I was self-employed as an etcher in the Barre granite industry. It was a privilege and an honor to work with some of the finest artists and artisans, continuing a history that also honored my family heritage. Over that time period, over 10,000 pieces were produced. Often creating the single most important piece of art purchased by these families and communities to commemorate loved ones or historic, life-changing events.
My paintings have been exhibited and collected throughout New England, NY, Martha's Vineyard and Ireland.
I am currently working in acrylics, watercolor and oil.

My love for bright colors blossomed as a child, inspired by my mother and grandmother, in a world of sewing.
I made clothes, bed covers/curtains, and stuffed animals. For all my 64 years, I have loved exploring art, creating & making, writing & photography, while working in healing arts, licensed as an acupuncturist for 14 years. What a unique blessing to draw, while working full time, eight years, as an operator on our Vermont Support Line.
And then at 62, something new! I launched my art website, and online store, cynthiachristensenart.com. Paper, Canvas Wrap, Wood, Metal, Acrylic, Merchandise prints, and commissions are available.
Using markers & pens, I love drawing colorful, detailed animals/nature inspired abstracts. Originals are drawn with Sharpie, Tom Brow, Dual Brush, Markers to lay down colors, highlighted with Uniball Gold, White, and Silver pens, on 18" x 24" Heavyweight, Swarthmore Drawing Paper.
Markers & pens are not as expensive as some art supplies and travel easily.
Each drawing takes about a week, inspired by seasons, events in my life & others.
I am touched when Collectors choose my art honoring special occasions
such as weddings, graduations, birthdays, holidays, reunions, gifts to self,
or for those experiencing health/life challenges.
My art is now in 28 states across the US and Canada.
Future dreams include seeing my art in hospitals, patient rooms, healing spaces, shelters,
and other community spaces where spirits need uplifting.

Melody Harvey is a native Vermonter who currently lives in Barre. A self- taught artist who has explored many mediums which include acrylics, oils, paper mache, granite and glass etching, pencil, pen and ink, pastel, as well as watercolor. Melody is mainly a landscape artist who applies acrylic paint on canvas to create striking and vivid works while sometimes adding wildlife. She also enjoys painting on windows for local businesses and mural art by commission.

Ritchie, Heather Milne and Bevins, Isabella on the right is a professional granite memorial carver, artist in many mediums and mother of two. She is a graduate of Bennington College, a twice resident of the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT and a regular contributor to the Central Vermont Arts community. A member of Studio Place Arts and The Surface Design Association, her sculptures are shown in New England galleries and across the country in cemeteries nationwide. A recipient of public and private art commissions, Heather is an active independent artist.An innovative sculptor, she brings a unique vision to the traditional stone art trade. Isabella Bevins, Heather's niece is a 2023 graduate of Spaulding High School continuing her education in college to major in
nursing. She is Treasurer of National Honor Society and Vice President of her Senior class. She is involved with Interact Club, Key Club and Student Athletic Leadership Team. A well rounded academic student and captain athlete she has a positive impact on those around her. Isabella works at T.J. Maxx and Lincoln House during the school year and Camp Downer in the summer.

2016 Graduate from Lyndon State College with a bachelor of science in Mountain Recreation Management and a double minor in Graphic Design and Marketing. Started my artistic career at Killington Resort as a sign production technician from 2016-2019, where I learned the process of vinyl production and installation of vinyl.
In 2019 I purchased my own vinyl production equipment where I focused on custom print vinyl graphics and started an LLC now known as Perspective Graphics. Much of my work can be seen riding the high banks of Thunder Road every year, as well as company vehicles in need of graphics on their vehicles.
In 2022 I became certified with 3m as a preferred graphics installer which excelled my knowledge with different types of vinyl graphics and how to install them onto different substrates such as windows, walls and floors.
I am a privately owned single member LLC that began my company out of a basement of a house and look forward to what I can turn this company into in the coming years.

Kathrena Ravenhorst-Adams enjoys working in watercolor, pastel and oil. She has taught watercolor for many years and is active in and exhibits with many artist groups including the Paletteers, the Vermont Pastel Society, the Vermont Watercolor Society, and several local artist groups. Her work may be seen in several Vermont galleries including Art, etc. in Randolph, the White River Craft Center in Randolph, the T. W. Wood Gallery in Montpelier and at the Depot Square Pizzeria in Northfield. Scenes of the details of nature and the landscape continue to be favorite subjects for her work.
Ford, Chris
I've lived in Barre my whole life. I graduated from Vermont Technical College in 1980 and became a draftsman for Lane Sawmills, at the former Smith, Whitcomb, and Cook Co. As a hobby, and for extra spending money, I worked on and began lettering race cars. By 1983, it became a lucrative side business. In 1985 I went completely on my own in the sign trade. Through the late 80's and into the early 90's, well before computers were of any real assistance, I would hand letter 30 to 40 race cars in a season, at my peak.
As vinyl took over, more people started in the business. The prestige of a sign man began to wear off. I fell back into my craftsmanship roots and currently find my niche in the design and manufacture of quality signs. These days I only do a handful of race cars. However, I've had the good fortune to have hand lettered several restored coupes. Most, for the Lloyd Hutchins collection and for Paul Zampieri, of which includes the #13 Ronny Marvin car.

I grew up in Vermont and only start painting as an adult. I enjoy painting with multiple mediums. When I am working, I totally lose time and myself in the creative process. Bernadette Eddy was my earliest mentor. She taught me Eglomise or Reverse Glass Painting and Faberge' styled eggs. Later I took many workshops and classes at galleries, art organizations and attended Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts.
I enjoy working with watercolor, acrylic, oils and pastels. Most of my present work is in pastels and oils. I work with my husband in our Arts and Carving business, decorating Santas that are carved from cypress trees. I enjoy the challenge of working with the shapes that mother nature has given us.
I am a member of the Paletteers, Vermont Hand Crafters, Vermont Pastel Society, SPA and the Wood Art gallery. I served twice as president and many years on the board of the Paletteers, six years on the Vermont Hand Crafters board and as a board member at large for the Vermont Pastel Society.

Hutchins, Stephanie
Art has always been a part of my life. I enjoy crafting in my free time. I've participated in a few craft fairs selling hand made cards. I enjoy hand crafting jewelry as well. I have dabbled in painting with acrylic and watercolor. I've lead various art workshops for adults and kids at a few different places but mainly working at summer camp. Currently I'm taking art classes at CCV to gain more skills and confidence in my craft.

Roger is a Berlin, VT resident who has lived in Central VT since 2001. He is married to his beautiful wife Erin, and has two children (Nelle, and Shafer).
He is a 26 year member of the PGA of America and currently works as the Head Golf Professional at The Sugarbush Resort Golf Club.
He recently took up painting during the Pandemic and likens it to playing golf. Both are artistic in their own way. The good thing about painting is, you can't hit the golf ball into the water when painting.
My name is Nelle King. I am a 7th grader at U-32 Middle School. In my free time I like to play soccer, basketball, lacrosse and hang out with friends. I really fell in love with painting during the pandemic because one day my dad brought home some paint and canvases. My mother, brother and I started to paint together to Bob Ross shows to pass the time... Now, almost 4 years later, I still love to paint!

Murphy, Pam
Pam lives in Barre, Vermont, and has two daughters, Erin and family in Montpelier, and Meghan in Burlington. Pam will tell you she’s not an artist and she can’t paint, but she has loved taking pictures since she was first given a Brownie Kodak camera at the age of ten. She has gotten creative in her job as a librarian taking pictures for newsletters and public relations materials. She likes artistic endeavors and has tried most types of arts & craft projects at one time or another. She joined the Paletteers when she was asked to be the Secretary in 2019. Since then she has exhibited her photography at various shows.

I am a 23-year-old born and raised Vermonter and have lived in Barre for the entirety of my life thus far. I am a paramedic at Barre Town Emergency Medical Services and am grateful to be able to serve the community where I grew up. I enjoy traveling, paddle boarding, and oil painting in my free time. I greatly credit my love for painting and crafts to my grandmother Jan Spargo. I hope this art piece can bring joy to the people driving and walking past it and I am very appreciative to have had the opportunity to participate in the Barre Art Splash this year.

Miranda is a (Barre) Vermont native and graduate from Spaulding High School and the University of Vermont. Miranda graduated with a BA in International Relations and double-minored in Italian and Art History.
Miranda is passionate about all things art and drew inspiration from one of her favorite artists (Van Gogh) to paint a rendition of “A Starry Night.”
Miranda lives in Denver, Colorado where she works for a local nonprofit that provides nutrition and food skills education to families in need, with a focus on parents and caregivers with children ages 0-5.

I was born and raised in Barre, VT. Growing up I had always wanted to become a professional artist. My parents' construction business, Randall Contracting Inc., gave me my first opportunity to use painting as a way to make money. The first gig I can remember was painting the windows in their renovation of Studio Place Arts when I was 14. Graduating from Spaulding High School in 2004, I pursued a degree in Multimedia and Graphic Design at Champlain College in Burlington, VT. I have always had a passion for fine arts, taking every opportunity to fill every elective I could with art classes. Sitting down at a computer never sparked my interests, however, and I came back to my roots as a painter for my family's construction company. Specializing in historic renovations and then also federal contracts at the Burlington courthouse, I eventually began doing my own independent painting in residential and local area businesses. I have had a lifelong connection to small business in Barre through my father and through those relationships I have been commissioned to make quite a few murals along the way. I have two large murals in the former Project Independence in Barre, and another small mural in Our House. For the last two years I have turned to a career working as a butter maker at Vermont Creamery and have left painting to remain as a hobby. Along the way I have become a mother to two amazing boys, Javion (10) and Tre'shaun (5). Motherhood has been my main focus and love, where I share my passion for art with my children every chance I get.
Thompson, Jim
Jim Thompson is an educator, musician and artist who has lived most of his life in Montpelier, Vermont. His unique kites are a wonder to see: a menagerie of beasts and birds and an occasional human. Although he made a few kites in the early 70’s, it wasn’t until March of 2011 that he took up the craft in earnest after a neck injury left him out of work and unable to perform music. Since then, he and his kites have been featured in many publications, on radio, and on WCAX TV’s “Made in Vermont” segment. Two of his kites were featured in an exhibit of kites from around the world at the Eretz Museum in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Louisa Tripp enjoys the artistic beauty inherent in data, data management and data exchange. An IT professional currently working for the State of Vermont, she also volunteers for the behind the scenes IT needs of Rotary. Louisa is not a professional artist and credits any artistic talent exhibited as inherited from her father who in addition to his own art, has painted copies of Hockney, Cezanne and Monet. Creativity is what moves society forward - everything...art, communication, resolution of issues and even IT all benefit from creativity and creative thinking.

Madison Roberge is a multidisciplinary artist whose creative practice spans jewelry design, graphic art, and public art. For this community animal art project, Madison brings their signature focus on movement, transformation, and social expression to life in a bold and imaginative way.
